Easily the Beatles. I am the youngest of nine kids and my siblings played the Beatles all the time. Hearing them makes my soul smile.

I've posted my earliest memories listening to my Mom's artists in the early 60's, but for me the singular song that piqued my interest in rock music was this classic song.

Heard it for the first time on our old AM radio while we were camping...so Sox I guess it is almost as archaic as a "radiogram"...

Nothing mysterious about them Jen,,,here's a picture of an English model I found.

Basically an all in one unit, some came in big consoles like a piece of furniture, while others were more portable.
