I wholeheatedly agree with ya,Philmore,particularly the competition between the '60's and '70's,no to mention all the great '50's works that people are forgetting about more and more year after year.With all this having been said,the only thing I believe for sure is that 1967 was most likely rock's greatest and influential single year.Other than that,you had the Beatles and the Stone's in their prime in the 60's,but on the other hand,you had Black Sabbath,Lynrd Skynrd and the Eagles in the '70's,of course,just to name a few.For my money,a great tune is a great tune no matter what era in popular music it represents.This theory well applies to works going all the way back to classical pieces from centuries ago.................
