The vocals sound alike in these two songs. Even the music has some resemblence.

Jeff Lynne definitely borrowed from this one...at least the first line.
Heroes And Villains - Beach Boys

Across The Border - Electric Light Orchestra (starting at 0.43)

Has anyone else noticed that Chuck Berry's School Days and No Particular Place To Go are the same song with different lyrics?

Paul Revere & the Raiders released a single in the late sixties whose opening chords sounded like such an exact copy of "Paperback Writer" by the Beatles that I was always disappointed that it wasn't "Paperback Writer" I was going to hear.

:heheh:

That's the one. I was trying to find a video on YouTube yesterday to confirm my suspicion but couldn't find it.

"Back in the U.S.S.R." by the Beatles is a direct parody of Chuck Berry's "Back in the U.S.A." It also contains a riff remarkably similar to that of "California Girls" by the Beach Boys e.g. "And Georgia girls make me sing and shout, they leave our West behind...."

Yet the writing credits are to only Lennon/McCartney.

:wtf:

While obviously not exact copies these three songs share a lot of interesting similarities:

The Hunter
Written by Booker T and the MGs and made popular by Free
"They call me the hunter
'cause thats my name ..
Ain't no use to hide
ain't no use to run
'cause I got you in the sight
of my girly gun"

How Many More Times by Led Zeppelin
"Well, they call me the Hunter, that's my name
Call me the Hunter, that's how I got my fame
Ain't no need to hide, Ain't no need to run
'cause I've got you in the sights of my gun"

Love Gun by Kiss
"No place for hidin' baby
No place to run
You pull the trigger of my
Love gun, love gun
Love gun, love gun "
