I don't know the full story word for word but it is noted that the band became massive very quick and very soon after Cream had broken up. Clapton for one felt trapped and when they returned from touring abroad the band broke up and went their seperate ways leaving Clapton to work with Delaney and Bonnie.

Something like that anyways it was a pearler of an album:)

Seems odd that Clapton would feel "trapped" in the situation given the overall success of the album. I do know that the dissolution of Cream was in part due to issues with Ginger Baker, and Clapton was hesitant to work with him again. Perhaps he was uncomfortable with that or wanted to participate in other projects.

Anywho, I got the album on a steal at Barnes and Noble thinking nothing of it at the time, but it was a great buy. :grinthumb

For anyone who is a Layne Staley fan.....Mad Season released "Above" in 1995. Mad Season was :

Layne Staley ~ Alice in Chains ~ Vocals, Rhythm Guitar & Album cover design
Mike McCready ~ Pearl Jam ~ Lead & Rhythm Guitar
Barrett Martin ~ Screaming Trees ~ Drums
John Baker Saunders ~ The Walkabouts ~ Bass

I could not understand why Coverdale and Page did not persist with the project. Both have put much more energy into far less worthy projects (The Firm, Page + Plant, mid-eighties Whitesnake).

I can't help feeling Gogmagog would've been more successful with a better name. Janick Gers deserves better than Iron Maiden IMO. Neil Murray is always good.
