that is an elitist way of looking at things, besides the vast majority of people that love music are not musicians, just fans.
Well, that explains why when one listens to the radio (do people still listen to that thing any more) its the same old burned out songs over and over, and whenever I see a time-life commercial once again its the same old dry up songs thats been hashed to death..
Tell me Grendel, just how many various artist on vinyls, CDs, cassettes and 8-track tapes do you have that has steppenwolf - born to be wild on it.???? Its NOT that great of a song.
You want "fun songs" how about Raffi and mister rogers", arent those "fun songs"? Kids under 6 seems to enjoy them.
And theres absolutely nothing wrong with being a "elitist" when it comes to anything in fact, does that also means anybody with a PhD is a "elitist" as well? If your going to be serious about anything ones own standards have to be true, have to fix a certain criteria.. meaning (a standard of judgment or criticism; a rule or principle for evaluating or testing something.)
Try this:
Which would you rather pick... 1. Eddie Van Halen or 2. Ritchie Blackmore? One is all flash and speed, the other is style and substance.?
People would pick Eddie because hes the flavor of the month and obviously you dont want to be labeled "weird" for picking Blackmore. And not using "any" criteria in this selection means you have no standards in evaluating anything whatsoever.
It is what it is... This is not a drug induced point of view nor do I make this crap up. Ask anybody.
