Wow. A bump to a thread that's been dormant for over 10 years.

I was in my mid-late teens during that era, and I'm fond of saying I'm old enough that I was on the front lines during the war on disco.

I never owned any disco, (to be caught with it was certain death) but there were a few songs I secretly thought were great.

If I Can't Have You ~ Yvonne Elliman
You Should Be Dancing ~ The Bee Gees
Boogie Oogie Oogie ~ A Taste Of Honey
Turn The Beat Around ~ Vicki Sue Robinson
September ~ Earth Wind & Fire

That's just a couple off the top of my head.

Got to see Heatwave on a date in '78 ( I was punching above my weight, this lady was older and ran the paint, paper and materials shop at my Art School.)
Success story right here: a guy is gutting fish in a port warehouse, then he's formed Heatwave and next stop it's Quincy Jones and Jacko!
Heatwave - Boogie Nights.

Oddly enough, I was big into skating back home in the 1970s (the recent fatality at Nottingham Panthers hockey team brought this memory back.).. When in NYC we did Coney Island... and all the normals that go with the place. A cab driver took the three of us to an Oyster Bar.... with jugs of beer-then we hit the roller rink... and then to the ice skater joint (not good on a gallon of Lone Star and a belly of crustaceans!!)
It's this song... I recall.
Diana Ross -It's My House.
