Rumor is 61 year old Malcolm Young had a stroke, can't play like he wants to or needs to! Sad if its true, one of my favorite bands for about 35 years!!!!

^^Considering the hard driving lifestyle of drinking and smoking for years it wouldn't surprise me if that did turn out to be true, but I'm hoping it's just Malcolm deciding he's had enough of being a rock and roll star.

:omg: I really, really, really hope this isn't true. To have one of the greatest bands in Rock 'N' Roll (Imo) call it quits would be tragic, but I could understand why if the family/health thing is true. Hope the truth gets out soon.

Again until they come out and confirm that I just take anything rumour related with a grain of salt.

They've put out 4 albums in the last 25 years, if they never put out another one, oh well. Razor's Edge (1990) was solid, but the other three were pretty disappointing as far as I'm concerned. Even Blow up Your Video (1988) was pretty weak.

In my opinion, the only thing that really matters is if they do or don't tour for the 40th anniversary. Would be cool if they did, but if they don't, it wouldn't bother me as I'd likely not go anyway. The last time I saw AC/DC in concert was Dec 1985 during the Fly on the Wall tour. They were pretty tight back then. Some of the concert footage I saw from the Black Ice tour didn't impress me much, so, as I said, if they are done, I have great memories that will last long beyond their playing days.

Ballbreaker and Stiff Upper Lip were pretty decent in my opinion but I agree the sound on BUYV was average.

Black Ice is a good album but coulda done without songs like Smash n Grab.

I liked a handful of songs between SUL and Ballbreaker, but on the whole, I didn't care for either one, especially compared to the stuff they did for the first few albums of the Brian Johnson era.

All the good old bands are slowly breaking up or becoming inactive. :/

I know only a handful of AC/DC songs plus the entire Back In Black album which I'm never in the mood to listen to, for some reason.

I find it strange that when/if this were just about any other band, people would react with disappointment, sadness, etc.

But that it's possibly happening to AC/DC, everyone's reactions are "pfttt.. yeah, we'll see when the band releases a statement, otherwise I don't believe it". I don't know why it's so hard to believe. Supposedly Malcom had a stroke a couple weeks back. If that's the case, it's VERY believable. *shrug*

I think it's fair to prefer to wait for an official statement. I've seen people post R.I.P. AC/DC on social networks, which is just ridiculous based on what is nothing more than a rumour at this point. It's a believable rumour and I'd be damn sad if it's the end, but I am not going to start mourning until it's official.

If the rumour turns out to be true, at least the band went out with a bang. Their last album and tour was AWESOME!
