Hey Schindler! Lots of cool points in your first post here! By the way, since your new here feel free to make an introduction post and get to know the cool members here!

For your post, I'm not the hugest Radiohead fan but that's a real cool story and it was good of him to do unlike the asshole Fred Durst who encouraged more violence at their Woodstock gig that ended up having fire and multiple rapes!

As for Dave Matthews Band, I kind of think Dave Matthews is a dick for spilling all that shit from their boat in the water especially after portraying an image hat frowns on that stuff. :heheh:

The band wasn't on the tour bus at the time, so it was really the driver (who got fired and sentenced to prison and community service). They accepted responsibility, nonetheless, and agreed to pay any necessary settlements and ensure nothing like that happens again. They handled it fairly well, if you ask me.

And your comment about Radiohead and Fred Durst brings me to a point about Axl Rose: There have been instances where he has stopped concerts due to fights in the crowd, because he wanted others to be able to enjoy the show. I'm not saying it justifies the other shit he's done, but it's a somewhat respectable thing to do.

O.K. man, thanks for clearing that up! I didn't hear the updates on it but I had just remembered reading about the DMB issue when it first happened.

Yeah, anytime when an artist tries to keep peace at their shows is a good thing! :grinthumb

Can't find the video for this, but this is the epitome of an asshole:

Charlie Rich envelope burning
Charlie Rich's actions on the 1975 CMA Awards show illustrated what was going on behind the scenes when traditional country took on pop country. When John Denver was nominated for the top award that year, it was very controversial to the country industry. When he won, a drunken or drugged out Rich burned the envelope in protest, with an oblivious and smiling Denver accepting via satellite.

That is a very douchey thing to do.

The question is, what do you do about jerks? Do you continue to support them buying their albums and attending their concerts?

What did the first two do?

Well Mustaine has always come across as an asshole (as well as having a whiny, shitty singing voice) and Gene Simmons claimed once that if anyone thought that everyone in the band always played their instruments on every track they were dumbasses....and I thought that was pretty poor.
