Here was Yesterday’s playlist:
Today, Debbie and I are home taking it easy (Smoked Polish Sausage and Mac n Cheese Cooking for Lunch) & we’ve been listening to our “Buck’s Blues Bash” playlist of over 1000 Blues tunes from our music collection. In the mid/late 70’s I discovered Blues music through bands like the Stones, George Thorogood, Johnny Winter, Eric Clapton…etc. and loved it… Around 1982 or so I seen Eric Clapton Live and the day after the show while working at Tops Supermarket I was talking about the show with a couple of co-workers. A customer came up to me after overhearing me talking and asked about the show. This guy was an Older guy(early 50’s)and he looked like Frank Zappa with curly hair. He was more interested in asking me about the opening band(Fabulous Thunderbirds). He then began talking about the blues and said he’d hook me up… A week later he was shopping and handed me a Cassette he had made and said “Ask out one of those cashiers, play this tape, & smoke a joint…you won’t regret it”…(I didn’t smoke pot but it was still funny the guy said that). Anyway that cassette blew me away! It was 90 minutes of great blues artists I never heard of but I recognized a lot of the songs from other artists. There were Artists like Muddy Waters, Freddie King, Albert Collins, Albert King, Jimmy Reed, Howlin Wolf, Lightning Hopkins, …etc on the tape. That tape was a huge influence on me and was really what helped me discover the Blues. The guys name was Dominic and he was a high school teacher at Kensington High. He also was in a 3 piece band which was called Open All Night. A bunch of us at work seen him play out a few times and his shows were very strange but entertaining … It was kind of a comedy act mixing blues, reggae, & the comedy of Andy Kaufman all mixed together …Last time I ran into Dominick was about 25 years ago at a record store(Still looked the same except much older and grayer…He told me I had to buy the new John Primer cd so I did)… By the way Deb loves Blues music too! Today the songs that came up were:

Today I had my Nuclear Stress Test to check my heart for any blockage… Things changed a lot from my last test which was a few years back. Back then it took about 3 hours because they’d inject me and I’d have to drink a ton of water, Take photos and repeat that same first step… This time I was done in an hour and didn’t have to drink at all…I still am a bit nauseous and have a headache but now I just wait for the doc to look at the photos and get back to me… Now I’m laying back with the cats taking it easy while Deb is working (Thanks Deb for picking up lunch from Charlie the Butcher’s today and my prescriptions!!!)
