Re: Metallica

I actually prefer 80's Anthrax to both Metallica & Megadeth but I do like stuff by all 3 bands. I had a lot of fun in the 80's with those 3 bands. I first heard Megadeth when I picked up the soundtrack for the movie 'Dudes'. It had Wasp & Keel on the album but I thought the cover of "These Boots..." by Megadeth was hilarious.I thought it was both cool & awful but I loved it. I bought their Peace Sells album & loved it. The same with 'So Far So Good So What' but after that I kind of lost interest. I Still I don't think there's no comparison between them & Metallica. I'll take Metallica over Megadeth. 'Kill'em All' is one of my favorite metal albums of all-time.

I don't know why Bucky, but Anthrax just misses for me...:dunno:

Slayer I can play once in a while, but their songs as I have said before seem to be so similar that I only need one of their albums.:D

M & M are both good bands, and still making good music today.

Nothing wrong with that LG  I just found more fun in Anthrax. I agree with you on Slayer but I do love the title track from their new album

"World Painted Blood"... I seen them perform it live on Jimmy Kimmel so I bought the download of the song. Debbie & I went for a drive this morning & it was just so much fun cranking that tune out throwing my fists in the air to it. We must've looked like quite the sight but it was fun. The song just hit me right & I've had fun with it since

Re: Metallica

I'm not an Anthrax fan personally, but talking about thrash bands, I was very impressed with the latest Exodus album. Kicks some ass.

Re: Metallica

When Metallica puts out a string of hugely successful singles done on acoustic guitar like "Photograph" and "Rockstar" then I'll be a bit more inclined to believe your claim.

I'll admit, this song sounds more like a theory of a deadman song, but still, definitely an attempt to sell out.

Now THIS reminds me of Nickelback, the vocals.
too lazy to find the other songs
It may just be me, but the first time I heard both of those songs on the radio I thought it was nickelback, and theory of a deadman. I only realized it when I listened to them after downloading metallica that those songs were theirs.

Re: Metallica

I don't hear it... I mean, has Nickelback ever in their existence released a 7 minute song? The vocals I could sort of see, but Nickelback's music sounds nothing like Metallica, especially not on any radio singles.

Re: Metallica

^^Agreed AAG.

LXA that is a reach, and the "Selling Out" you seem fixated on, well any band with the pedigree Metallica has is entitled to do whatever they want, and that includes releasing albums that some hard core fans don't like. Metallica doesn't belong to anyone but themselves, you enjoy the albums they made that you like and ignore the ones you don't like(St. Anger etc.)

The only comparison I can possibly make between Nickelback and Metallica is they are both in the business of selling albums and doing concerts and are very successful bands. The music, night and day.
