Definitely Ten, Pearl Jam's first two albums, Ten and Vs, are awesome!
Same here but I thought they peaked with Vitalogy!

I pick Ten! I grew up with and listened to both albums a lot. I bought the complete catalog from both bands with the exceptions of all live albums (with Pearl Jam, are you kidding me

) and reissues (Bleach)!
Both were considered Grunge but I think Pearl Jam were closer to a pure rock band than Nirvana. Nevermind was more of an album with a punk attitude and a constantly droll sound. Pearl Jam actually had a variety of moods and was actually uplifting in a spiritual meditative way at times (Ocean and Release). It had an anthemic rock edge with cooler guitar parts than Nevermind as well IMO. Ten contains my favorite Grunge Era ballad as well with Black. Black is such a powerful song it could probably elevate the album Ten to win on it's own. The emotion on that song is amazing. One thing that separates the most is Kurt wrote for himself and was more self indulgent in my opinion. That works more short term IMO and unless you were going through Kurt's frame of mind at the time then you are going to have more of a connection with the more universal songwriting of Ten in the long run I think. Anyway, two great albums but I had to say more about Tens positives in comparison because that was my pick!
