Have you checked both songs in live versions?

Every live version I have seen of Achilles is pretty bad.

Stargazer is killer live….from the spacey intro, to Cozy’s exhausting intro, to Blackmore’s solo and a completely provado Dio vocal delivery.

IMHO, nothing to compare. Just for the record, I love LZ but Rainbow takes this poll….

Considering that the guy repeated his opinion in different variations in this thread as many as 9 times (sic!), I doubt that he is capable of perceiving another point of view. Don't waste your time, Gale.

The two songs are different. However the one which makes an immediate impression and paints a vivid picture with specific ambience is Stargazer. The guitars, vocals and the lyrics and that driving riff/melody makes it special ....

Achilles is the coolest song Zeppelin ever made. Every member gave it 100% and Page went way over his head in this song. So with all due respect, Stargazer is second place here.
