Nick Simmons Doors/Riders On The Storm new frontman?

Exactly AAG, and I didn't even know who Nick Simmons was until 70's Guy wrote this thread...

Music is a very small universe, and Gene has enormous influence no doubt, and if he was my Dad and could get me a chance to audition without paying all my dues, with the understanding that I succeed or fail on my own merits after that, then I would appreciate it.

Densmore, who originally elected not to participate, threatened legal action (for the name use?), and the project was scrapped not too far into the tour. I don't recall if Densmore susequently joined and the tour continued or not.

No, John did not join - but the tour continued. That's why the name of the band was changed to Riders on the Storm.

But guys, it's an issue of integrity. How can The Doors get mixed up in reality tv business?

They won't. Not unless they appear on the show itself. I would think Nick could have a life that has nothing to do with Family Jewels. At least that would be my wish.

I caught this on the family Jewels episode.. The guys were on their way to Vegas to do a Gig Gene set up for them at one of the casino's and all their gear was stolen out of their van at the motel.
To say the least, they weren't prepared but managed to get some new gear and play without much time to do a sound check..
I still think with a little work, Nick could pull off doing some Doors songs..

Heh, he could. But he doesn't. Maybe if he had anything on his freaking resume except that show, plus a cameo on a throwaway album by a has-been and a plagiarized comic. If he quits the show so that he can be a proper frontman for Riders, I'll put my imaginary clout behind him, k?

Now I must confess I LOVE Gene Simmon's Family Jewels ..

It's out of my love for the fact that it shows a FUNCTIONAL rock family..not like The Osbornes or dimwit dating crap on Rock Of Love..this show actually is appealling because Genes' kids a sweet,funny,intelligent and NOT messed up

they don't 'bleep' out every other word either..because I think I've only seen Gene and Shannon cuss a bit...

Theres no disfunctional drugs/booze and Gene Simmons actually shows us he is a HUMAN lol..that;s because Shannon,Nick and Sophie don't let him get away with ANYTHING

That being said, I LOVE Nick Simmons..he's 1000 times better looking then Gene lol I dunno about his singing..what I heard is fine...

and is a NICE kid..good luck to him..
