Most critics are snobbish......and opinionated.

Just a small note in his favor, though, he has written a couple books about Bruce Springsteen and is a close friend of Springsteen. So, he can't be all bad.

If i was standing next to Marsh on the sidewalk and he were on fire, I wouldn't piss on him to put it out.

I don't have time right now to read that whole 'article' of bullshit, (I'll come back to it when I do have time), but I already know exactly what it says. Marsh has been a douchebag for ages, expecting him to be any less of one now is like expecting a pig dripping in slop to not stink.

I couldn't give two shits about this craptastic private organization known as the RnR HOF. While I'm was happy that KISS made it in, it doesn't make or break my day, my week, month or year because they finally got in. BUT, I'll say that if this asshole is as worked up as he is over them getting in, then I am infinitely more happy that they are there. F that guy and the donkey he rode in on.

Even if all those bands were better than Kiss. Kiss is more FAMOUS than all of them. Whether you like Kiss or not you absolutely can not argue against how big they are. How silly
Kiss more famous, than Scorpions, Leppard, Purple and Maiden!? I doubt it.

I'm not a huge KISS fan but yeah! Simply because they market themselves well, keep touring, make new albums that still satisfy the original fan base to some degree and catch the eye of new fans and keep themselves out there in other venues such as shows and articles, etc. You can't tell me that the bands you listed have expanded anything since their prime with the possible exception of Maiden.

hilarious how much of a shit fit he is throwing over a band getting into the hall of fame.

I feel the same way and I still think the hall of Fame is playing things smart. Have a big feature band or two, the middle rung and then important but lesser known lower rung featured artist each year. If all the fanboys did it they wouldn't be running a Hall of fame very long because they'd throw everything into a handful of shows. All the people inducted deserve it and each induction satisfies one section of a demographic. Each person has made a mark.

If we'll talk about Europe (and it's a huge rock-market, agree), then here Kiss much less popular, than Scorps or Maiden. Much less, seriously. Although in the USA situation can be opposite. 2_sm5.gif

I think just how big or famous Kiss are compared to other bands, is a matter of territory, but the fact is that there can't possibly be any person with even a remote interest in music who does not know Kiss. I love Kiss (not my favourite band though) and they belong in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame just as much as any of the bands that's been inducted before them, it's that simple.

Yeah probably so, I definitely worded that wrong. More like KISS can compete in fame with all of those bands. In the US I'd say it could be argued that for the general public KISS is probably the most well known, due to the marketing most likely, for sure more than Purple, Scorpions, etc. I think we can agree that the US is more about the marketing than the music and nobody competes with KISS marketing. You'll never see Maiden, Scorpions, Deep Purple on tv here in the US. You for sure won't hear Maiden on the radio. But that's a different argument for a different discussion. The point is KISS belongs in the same HOF as bands like that.

Anyway, in Marsh's argument he suggest that Kiss hasd no real influence on rock music and then later says bands like Pantera should be in when Pantera is a band that would proudly say that KISS was a major influence. Hell, Dimebag is in a KISS casket!
