I don't think Keith Whitley "covered" that song, ILJP. The song was written for him ;)

I love Diamond Rio....saw them perform back in the early 2000's when "Beautiful Mess" was popular:

I guess I should have known that since Allison Krauss did it back in the 90's. :grinthumb You're definitely more up to par on the country history than I am ma'am.

This Diamond Rio song is a favorite of my moms.

    ^^^:wa:

That song is a tear jerker!!

The most successful songwriter in country music....Paul Overstreet. Paul has also enjoyed the success of some music he recorded solo reaching #1, too.

The Pistol Annies definitely show promise. A little more outlaw than Dixie Chicks and they could possibly challenge their crown.

Fixed the youtube links in the last couple of posts.

Coltrane: I've never heard of Pistol Annies, and I'm not normally a fan of country chick bands, but that's a pretty decent song. :)

One of the sweetest Country love songs, and appropriate with Valentine's Day coming up.

    Valentine ~ Martina McBride

Some newer Martina! I actually just heard this song the other day. Nominated for a Grammy too. :)

    Carrie Underwood's new single.

    Good Girl

Expect her new album out in May! Wonder if there will be any Steven Tyler featured? :D

Speaking of American Idol, Casey James from season 9 also has a new single and it is fantastic! His self-titled debut album was released just a couple of days ago. I downloaded this song courtesy of iTunes for their single of the week and I may just have to get the whole album now. I love his originality on this one. It seems a lot of Idol alumni goes the cover route so it's refreshing to hear a song Casey wrote himself.

    Let's Don't Call It A Night

And not to mention he's a total babe!
