One guy that had a TON of hits and is one of my favorite non-outlaw country artists of the 70's and 80's was Ronnie Milsap.

Here's one of his hits from about '83 or so.

I think this song was kind of a country/pop crossover (if I remember correctly).

Dunno if anyone will remembet this guy, Keith Whitley. He was extremely popular in the mid 80's and had quite a huge streak of #1 hits until his death in 1989. He was also married to another country music great......Lorrie Morgan.

That cover rings a bell Magic. I used to spend hours upon hours watching CMT when I was a kid. The 90's were the BEST for CMT. Sure I saw it then. I love how songs run seamlessly throughout country artists and seem to sound great whether a male or female is covering them.

Here's an old 90's country song I heard yesterday and boy, did it bring back some memories.
