A lot of great albums from the last 20 years. Not sure why metal is excluded(?). Anyway, In Absentia from Porcupine Tree is my choice.

Some nice choices until now but some are metal and Groovy Man said it: no metal please . It's also hard for me to choose my best album because only metal albums come into my mind .

I don't really know much about the album...but I have heard a couple songs by Wolfmother and I have liked them. I also love the new tune by Slash with Andrew Stockdale (Wolfmother) called "By the Sword"

Not that there's anything wrong with heavy metal.

For those complaining about no metal...

it wasn't a knock against metal.

It was just to see what rock album was your choice, that's all.

I mean, I wouldn't want to post a rock album in a Metal thead, asking what's your favorite metal album of the last 20 years.
