Some of Let it Be is live, depending on which version you have.

There's The Beatles at the Hollywood Bowl, but this may not exist in a digital format, other than as a boot.

I thought it meant bands who actually made an effort to record a live album when they were active, not the record company just digging up old tapes, which is what happens an awful lot nowadays, and is what those Beatles albums represent. They were releasing live Doors concert albums 20 years after Jim Morrison was dead!

Guns ‘n Roses would also I think have made a truly kick ass live album when they were the original line up and were at their peak, but they never did.

There must be quite a lot of material, by bands that did not release a live album, which deserves to see the light of day. It's probably just sitting in cans somewhere. With all the remixes, remasters, alternate takes, run throughs, etc, I wish the record companies would go back through the official live recordings.

Burzum has never done a live album, considering they have never done a live show.

Darkthrone also, they've done a couple shows but I doubt they made a live album.

The Beatles never 'made' a live album, though there's a couple of live things cobbled together from old tapes years after they split up.

I agree with you, I took the OP as whether a band recorded an actual concert performance the Beatles collection of live material thrown together and released doesn't count, at least to me.

Yeah Hollywood Bowl is a good album but I never considered it to be an OFFICIAL Beatles Live album.

How about Nirvana?? Do MTV Unplugged albums count as live albums???
