^^Elvis Costello is a genius, IMHO

Here are a few artists that most people love but I just can't get into.

U2
REM
ELO
Radiohead
Billy Joel
Dave Matthews Band
The Beach Boys

I fear genius is the wrong word for EC.....he didn't do anything for the music biz except ruin it, heheheheh:):)....genius my a**:):).
Seriously, you're not realy comparing EC with the likes of the Beach Boys and REM now are you???!:):lmao::lmao::lmao:

I totally understand why a lot of people don't like Elvis Costello...he is kind of strange.
FWIW, Here are a few of my favorite tracks:

I used to like Billy Joel's older stuff too but I kind of got burned out on it from to much radio play....if I hear Piano Man one more time :bonk: But I do think he is very talented and he would definitely be the one I like the most from the artists I listed.

Yuk....what revolting music......think I'll go back to listening to more SERIOUS stuff like Charles Manson's songs (I assure you there are many people like me who think Elvis Costello SUX big time:))

Your opinion and that of the "the many people like you" makes not a lick of difference to me so feel free to express it....I listen to what I like. If you don't like him more power to you...

And no I wasn't comparing Elvis Costello to the Beach Boys and REM...if you read carefully I said I like his music much more.

Have no idea what you are talking about. Not getting personal or taking shots at you. All I am saying is "you listen to what you like and I will listen to what I like". I am not interested in getting in an argument

It's just that when there are too many "yous" in a post it worries me, that's all.....of course we'll both listen to what we like....music like all art forms is HIGHLY subjective, but I'll never back down from a good debate...that's just not my style :):):bow::lmao:

Led Zeppelin was a good band but nothing more. Page is an average guitar player with good production stills and Plant is an annoy singer. The best part of the band is Bonham and Jones. Although Bonham is all about power drumming something that doesn't impress me that much. I like a few bands they influenced but for the most part they started a few genre I don't care for.

AC/DC -never liked a single song by them. Not my cup of tea.
Guns n Roses-another annoying singer I don't get the appeal of this band at all. Yeah Yeah Slash can play a mean guitar.

With all that being said "it doesn't matter much to me" I like so much music that a few bands that everyone else gets and I don't doesn't stop me from listen to hours and hours or music.

Now I think Led Zeppelin are better than just a "good" band; I think that they're a very good band. I also think Jimmy Page is a much, much better than average guitar player.

I do, however, agree that Robert Plant's vocal theatrics can be annoying, and I'm also willing to say that Led Zeppelin is overrated quite simply because they have so many fans who think that Led Zeppelin is the be-all and end-all and not just a very good band.
