^^I noticed you didn't like my choice GM...:heheh:

I have OK Computer as one of the most influential albums of the last twenty years, almost the DSTOM of their generation in fact.

I think I'll play it today.:D

Ah, Radiohead fans...
;)

First they claim (in their circle) they're this generation's Beatles...

now, OK Computer is up there with Floyd's DSTOM
:heheh:

Only if....:)

I just dont see Radiohead having that much influence........

Of course the Nirvana fans will argue in their favor.........

and some will say U2 has had the most influence......

I just dunno what would be the most influential album in the past 20 years

No Grunge album or band ever reached me the way Radiohead did, I am not a rabid fan, but that one record deserves to be in this conversation.

Radiohead is influential in many ways for the entire generation of 90's music, just because you all are stuck in the mud doesn't deter me feeling that way.;)

I will grant you your tender spot for Radiohead, LG. This will bother me, though, wondering who I would consider the most influential band/artist the past 20 years.

I will think on this and get back to y'all ........

There are no wrong choices here, I was just curious what everyone would come up with. :)

I don't know either...but if it's Radiohead, Nirvana or U2? - they certainly aren't doing a good job!

I don't think that "Folklore And Superstition" will ever be as influential as "OK Computer" or "Nevermind" but the album is one that I think is my personal fave.

^^It's all a matter of personal taste Sox, your's is as relevant to you as any critics or hordes of naysayers, they never change my mind over the years I've been listening to music.:D

Oh and I have to say "Nice to see you writing a good thread Groovy, even if we disagree about the albums/bands in question."

top five from the 90's
1. Radiohead-The Bends
2. My Bloody Valentine-Loveless
3. Radiohead-Ok Computer
4. Neutral Milk Hotel-In the Aeroplane Over the Sea
5. Jeff Buckley-Grace

top 5 from the 00's
1. Radiohead-Kid A
2. Doves-Lost Souls
3. Arcade Fire-Funeral
4. Decemberists-The Crane Wife
5. Tori Amos-Scarlet's Walk

so answer is

one note there is very little difference between any of these albums love them all and they could all be my favorite album of the last 20 years.
