I heard a song on a classic rock station at work that I can't figure out who its by. The song is long, I would say at least 6 min and there are no words except for the chorus. It's got a lot of uptempo guitar and the chorus mellows out. I don't know the exact words of the chorus but it talks about Kings, Castles, and Sands. My description is not the best but any help would be great.

Sounds vaguely familiar. Somrthing from early Renaissance perhaps?

i don't know if it helps but this one talks about a king, castle and sand. The duration is very short it doesn't have 6 mins.

Wolfmother's 10,000 Feet comes to mind, it mentions castles, sands and kingdoms, but it's only about 4 and a half mins long & has verses.
