^ yes MSG is in NYC lots of great shows their including George Harrison's Concert for Bangladesh and the No Nukes concerts in 1980. Let alone lots of great otehr shows.
CBGB's (now gone)
the old Fillmore East(NYC)
Palladium NYC (gone- Loved going to Zappa Halloween shows there)
What fantastic venues especially Buxton Opera House and Sheffield City Hall!! The 'poshest' venue I have been to would have to be Sydney Opera House otherwise the venues I usually frequent are pubs and the wonderful old Enmore Theatre which is nothing special but has heaps of atmosphere. Mum & Dad saw Rory Gallagher there on his last tour of Australia in 1991.
Some beauties posted so far. Here's one of our best venues, The Jubilee Auditorium in Edmonton. The Symphony orchestra plays here but they also book rock bands and musicals.
Here's The Beacon Theater in NYC which is another great place to see a show. Had the pleasure of seeing Johnny Winter, Dio, Motorhead, Leslie West/Corky Laing, Steppenwolf, BTO, The Guess Who, John Mayall, B.B. King, Miles Davis plus others.
^^ I agree with LG there have been some great places put up, some I have heard of some not, here's the new Lowry Theatre Salford Quays Manchester UK, I went with Sweaty to see Johnny Winter there and was very much impressed.
Hawk and LG those theatre's look fantastic inside ..
