It is true otherwise I wouldn't have bothered saying it.
Who are these bands you speak of?

I'd have to agree on the 2000s - from the pop to hip hop/rap and the rock with no feeling. A bunch of bands like Jet and Buckcherry and the strokes and the vines that were supposed to re-invent rock and they quickly dissipated.
How can people not like the 80s for rock? Def Leppard, Van Halen, Guns n Roses, AC/DC, Metallica, Bon Jovi, Motley Crue, Rolling Stones, U2, Prince.....
good to here your point of view.I think I've steered clear of this thread a bit but thinking about it I can't make the call anyway. There has always been gear that makes me cringe whatever decade. I have a fondness for underground music with an edge. Mainstream marketing can sometimes smooth out the raw, rough facet I like (not always). I struggle with Disco, Rap, Boy Bands, Big Hair Glam, Bubblegum pop, soft rock etc. The whole Rock era is peppered with gear I can't relate to. A little more work is required now because so much ground has been covered but there are still fantastic bands out there. So I guess I have to remain on the fence.
