Bernie Leadon's tribute to his old buddy Gram Parsons shortly after he died. 'My man' I believe was one of their ways of addressing each other. Beautiful steel pedal as ever from Leadon.

Only read this just now - excellent choice, the combination of the music, lyrics and vocals there makes for a moving song. I think it's a fine tribute to Gram (I really like the line about the old hickory wind calling him home as it's a reference to one of his best known songs).

This song came up in conversation yesterday. I never really thought that much of it, until I went to the funeral of a friends Dad last month. In that kind of setting, I agree its a very emotional/powerful song.

That guy sang it so beautifully, but he died too. :(
