Thought I'd start a discussion, which could prove testing and is totally subjective. But here I've cast aside my favourite band or cult rock tune..... and been entirely honest with myself - in most instances Dylan, Lennon & McCartney, Jagger & Richards, Goffin & King, David & Bacharach will be prevalent.
Jimmy Webb most definitely features top of my list.
This classic from 1968,is described and cited by many as "the perfect song"... Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Neil Diamond rate it as the pinnacle in popular song.
This is my one piece that I get lost in, wipe a tear, cast back to times gone by and marvel at the completeness of it.
