I've posted this here at least once before.... but I have it on a new mix inspired by The Hunger Games, and I was listening to it on the way home from work on Tuesday... and I was practically in tears when this song was over. I almost had to 'pull over' (I'm walking, mind you) to the side of the road and compose myself for a moment... Best war song ever.
Here's another one that's really been getting to me lately. I mean, come on, this whole stanza here chokes me up. It's just... such a beautiful sentiment. Such unconditional love, and such reverence for what was had...
Will you take a moment, promise me this
That you'll stand by me forever
But if god forbid fate should step in
And force us into a goodbye
If you have children some day
When they point to the pictures
Please tell them my name
Tell them how the crowds went wild
Tell them how I hope they shine.
