Haven't read this thread yet, so this might be a double.

Eric Clapton - Wonderful Tonight

This song drones and drags and plods on and on and on............

The guitar sounds like a tutorial for beginners.

The lyrics could have been written by an 8th grader.

.......and on and on and on

Boy, am I glad the Oasis fad is over. That is all.

I have given a couple of their best albums another listen and tried to put my...antipathy for the Gallagher's aside but I can agree with you that they weren't anything spectacular. But I'm in the minority their success with a generation of young fans speaks for itself.

Two Tickets To Paradise - Eddie Money

No hate for the Money man, I just think it is his most overrated song. To me it sounds "funky", especially and the beginning. Imo Think I'm In Love and/or Take Me Home Tonight are his better songs.

Usually I avoid too much negativity but here are just a few that come to mind for me....

(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction- The Rolling Stones
Imagine- John Lennon
All Along the Watchtower- The Jimi Hendrix Experience
Get Back- The Beatles
Tears in Heaven- Eric Clapton
Born To Be Wild- Steppenwolf
Mr. Tambourine Man- The Bryds

What do you think of the original Bob Dylan versions of those two songs CH?
I'd rather have Steppenwolf's Magic Carpet ride.

I'll give my opinion on that. for what it's worth. For me Dylan's original versions of those songs are absolutely magical. The versions by The Byrds and Jimi were fantastic, and a symptom of the times - ie they were able to put a completely different slant on a song.

I like his version of "Mr. Tambourine Man" but I don't care for his original "All Along The Watchtower". I do like it more than Jimi's version though.

And "Magic Carpet Ride" is way better than "Born to be Wild". "The Pusher" is too.

'So, you love Black Sabbath? Great, do you know anything else apart from Paranoid, War Pigs and Iron Man? No? Oh, okay...'
