Sunny
Settled down at last and very happy.
OK - if you say so LG ....................................... note how I'm trying to get the last word
I don't own a single Oasis album.
They will never rank with the greats I'm afraid,
sure a few good songs but eminently forgettable like so many others.
^^Feeling your oats CP/M?
Not a fan of post dissection even if you're in good form, you'll never see me do that. Context of a coherent paragraph or few sentences is as important as the individual sentences chopping them up is an old debate trick that I don't like.
Oasis, they will not last like Sunny mentioned they might have pockets of die hard fans scattered about but not here in North America at least not on the scale of England and some other locales.
I don't think they've done anything as good as U2 for example, I'd give them a better chance for longevity especially their early albums.
As far as having an opinion while not owning a single Oasis album, the same is true for Madonna. Can't stand her personally but she has already proved her lasting value to fans worldwide. Cosmic convinced me of that fact a while back and she was right. I respect her accomplishments but her music does nothing for me.
Lastly, if Oasis had managed to stay together and keep recording/touring then I might have had a different opinion. I just don't see Noel ever wanting to do anything with his brother in the future.
Sunny, CP/M give me your favorite Oasis album and I'll give it another listen, perhaps then I would reconsider their stature.

I only have two of their albums LG ..... Definitely Maybe and What's The Story Morning Glory and I like them both equally
