Particularly agreed with your view on Aerosmith self titled. That was raw and just simply my favourite album of the 70s from them.

Indeed, the vibe on that album is great comparing to the rest of Rainbow catalogue. I knew you'd like the 'In Trance' post. :grinthumb

Argent - All Together Now (1972)

Argent-All-Together-Now-547240.jpg

A1 Hold Your Head Up 6:15
A2 Keep On Rollin' 4:30
A3 Tragedy 4:45
A4 I Am the Dance of the Ages 3:45
B1 Be My Lover, Be My Friend 5:15
B2 He's a Dynamo 3:45
B3 Pure Love 13:00

I knew only their hit single 'Hold Your Head Up,' but that didn't stop me from buying their 5-in-1 albums and I really liked the band. Very similar sound to Uriah Heep. All Together Now though is definitely an outstanding in their catalogue, production is much better and composing - right at the top. That lovely sound of Hammond organ...

Favourite tracks: Tragedy, Be My Lover, Be My Friend and He's A Dynamo (no video found)

Zior, good band!! I didn't like The Chicago Spine and She'll Take You Down much. The next two were much better mainly due to the better vocals.

Whitesnake - Trouble (1978)

Whitesnake-Trouble-518754.jpg

A1 Take Me With You 4:44
A2 Love to Keep You Warm 3:44
A3 Lie Down (A Modern Love Song) 3:13
A4 Day Tripper 3:47
A5 Nighthawk (Vampire Blues) 3:40
B1 The Time Is Right for Love 3:27
B2 Trouble 4:48
B3 Belgian Tom's Hat Trick 3:26
B4 Free Flight 4:06
B5 Don't Mess With Me 3:25

The first Whitesnake studio album proved that during the punk wave there is still some audience left for hard rock and no doubt it is one of the bands that brought rock back to the top. A definite change of sound from Deep Purple, less classically and more blues influenced. Brilliant album, love Whitesnake to bits.

Favourite tracks: Take Me With You, Lie Down (A Modern Love Song), Belgian Tom's Hat Trick and Don't Mess With Me

Mountain - Nantucket Sleighride (1971)

Mountain-Nantucket-Sleighr-477824.jpg

A1 Don't Look Around 3:42
A2 Taunta 1:00
A3 Nantucket Sleighride 5:49
A4 You Can't Get Away! 3:23
A5 Tired Angels 4:39
B1 The Animal Trainer and the Toad 3:24
B2 My Lady 4:31
B3 Travellin' in the Dark 4:21
B4 The Great Train Robbery 5:43

Well known for the single 'Mississippi Queen,' Nantucket Sleighride is the next level of production and heaviness compared to their first album. Vocal duties shared between Papparaldi and West, it really holds one of the definitions of proto-metal.

Favourite tracks: Don't Look Around, Nantucket Sleighride, Tired Angels and My Lady

Elf - Elf (1972)

51WhDx2dQML._SL500_SS500_.jpg

A1 Hoochie Coochie Lady 5:32
A2 First Avenue 4:23
A3 Never More 3:50
A4 I'm Coming Back for You 3:27
B1 Sit Down Honey (Everything Will Be Alright) 3:48
B2 Dixie Lee Junction 5:09
B3 Love Me Like a Woman 3:47
B4 Gambler, Gambler 4:26

Ronnie Dio's first album is a blend of hard rock and blues rock, probably the only moment you will hear bluesy Ronnie. This piece of work is extremely underrated within Rainbow/Black Sabbath/Dio fans. I mean... I rarely, if not even never, saw someone talking about Elf. If you love Dio, pick this gem up and listen, you won't regret it.

Favourite tracks: Hoochie Coochie Lady, Sit Down Honey (Everything Will Be Alright) and Gambler, Gambler

Led Zeppelin - III (1970)

Led-Zeppelin-Led-Zeppelin-III-572249.jpg

A1 Immigrant Song 2:26
A2 Friends 3:55
A3 Celebration Day 3:29
A4 Since I've Been Loving You 7:25
A5 Out on the Tiles 4:04
B1 Gallows Pole 4:58
B2 Tangerine 3:12
B3 That's the Way 5:38
B4 Bron-Y-Aur Stomp 4:20
B5 Hats Off to (Roy) Harper 3:41

I would probably say the second album is a much better effort from Zeps, however I think III is my favourite of all (despite some dislike from what I heard from other members). It is more folky sound there with lots of acoustic guitars and such, but it is a fantastic album.

Favourite tracks: Immigrant Song, Celebration Day, Out on the Tiles and Bron-Y-Aur Stomp
Track to worth look at: Hey, Hey What Can I Do (B-side of Immigrant Song outside of UK)
