Nolo presents...
100 All Time Favourite Albums From The 70s!

Here's my 100 faves from the 70s and I will try and post one album each day. There's quite a lot of them, so in the end I might extend the list a bit. ;) There will be no order as I really can't figure out which one would be 1st or 48th, plus all depends on my mood. I want to treat them all equally.

This original post will contain the list revealed so far.

Hopefully you guys will follow and enjoy what will be put on here. :grinthumb

Curved Air - Air Cut (1973)

Curved-Air-Air-Cut-433896.jpg

A1 - The Purple Speed Queen (3:23)
A2 - Elfin Boy (4:12)
A3 - Metamorphosis (10:41)
A4 - World (1:37)
B1 - Armin (3:43)
B2 - U.H.F. (5:07)
B3 - Two Three Two (4:14)
B4 - Easy (6:39)

Starting with 'Air Cut', fourth album by Curved Air (with gorgeous looking Sonja Kristina :D), which comparing to their previous work it is a slight sound change turning into more straight forward rock, yet keeping the vibe of progressive rock (something similar to Nektar). In my opinion it is the best Curved Air album, I love the fact the guitar is taking the lead more than their second album called... wait for it... 'Second Album'. Also... loving the violin! That's what in fact caught my attention to this band.

Favourite tracks: Armin and U.H.F.

Warhorse - Red Sea (1972)

13584400.jpg

A1 Red Sea 4:17
A2 Back in Time 7:50
A3 Confident but Wrong 4:44
A4 Feeling Better 5:31
B1 Sybilla 5:31
B2 Mouthpiece 8:03
B3 I (Who Have Nothing) 5:03

Warhorse, probably most known for Nick Simper, the band leader, who was the original Deep Purple bass player and having Rick Wakeman during its early days, was one of those heavy prog bands that were round in the UK in the early 70s. The second album 'Red Sea' is far in the sight of the Deep Purple sound, but still shows some good creativity and comparing to the first self titled album it is much heavier. After this album Vertigo dropped the band, therefore they disbanded 2 years later, which is a shame. Great Hammond organ sound, some interesting guitar and drum solos and amazing Ben E. King cover.

Favourite tracks: Back In Time, Confident But Wrong and Mouthpiece (no video found)
