Metal: American or European?

Both continents have great bands. My favorite bands come more or less equally from both sides of the Atlantic; I can't really pick one over the other...It depends on the band.

In that case I pick Europe -- based solely on Iron Maiden -- who DESTROY every other band listed.

Even the european bands not considered "metal" are better imo ie zeppelin, deep purple, the who, the stones, yes, pink floyd etc etc I mean the europeans are light years ahead in the rock genre with maybe an exception or two.

America I personally credit for the best thrash bands, the Florida Death metal scene that I 100% love. But Europe for me has more diversity in styles of metal and even mixed sub genres.
