Metal: American or European?

Here's an example of one of the few exceptions of american metal. This seems to lean more toward a good classic heavy rock or nwobhm style.

There are plenty of them you are just unaware of them...not as many as European...granted, but still plenty more where they / Iced Earth are coming from...
