Admittedly, this article doesn't make much sense, but it does raise a laugh. In short, the band were booked to play in an unspecified forest, but the organisers changed their minds, fearing hordes of old hippies with Zimmer frames and walking sticks :

Sounds about right most Hawkwind fans are probably aged between 55-75 and living in hippy communes or are ECO-warriors saving the planet??.

Gotta hand it to Dave Brock for keeping that band going for the last 45 years!!.
