Help! Since I posted this, I can get The Minotaur's Song out of my head!:

The Minotaur's Song

Straight from the shoulder
I think like a soldier
I know what's right and what's wrong
He knows what's right and what's wrong.

I'm the original discriminating buffalo man
And I'll do what's wrong as long as I can
He'll do what's wrong as long as he can

I live in a labyrinth under the sea
Down in the dark as dark as can be
I like the dark as dark as can be
He likes the dark as dark as can be

I'll even attack you or eat you whole
Down in the dark my bone mills roll
Porridge for my porridge bowl
Porridge for his porridge bowl

I'm strong as the earth from which I'm born
He's strong as the earth from which he's born
I can't dream well because of my horns
He can't dream well because of his horns

Moo

I'm strong as the earth from which I'm born
He's strong as the earth from which he's born
I can't dream well because of my horns
He can't dream well because of his horns

A minotaur gets very sore
His features they are such a bore
His habits are predicta-bull
Aggressively relia-bull, bull, bull

I'm strong as the earth from which I'm born
He's strong as the earth from which he's born
I can't dream well because of my horns
He can't dream well because of his horns

I'm the original discriminating buffalo man
And I'll do what's wrong as long as I can
He'll do what's wrong as long as he can

Download "They're Coming To Take Me Away, Ha-Haaaa!" and play it five times. That should take care of your problem...or perhaps present you with a much worse problem! :D

Thanks, Rev. Just the thought of that cured me! :)

While certainly not obscure, I don't think I've ever heard anyone on this board mention Procul Harem. What do folks think of them?

Except for Whiter Shade of Pale, I never really got into Procul Harem. No idea why, just one of those bands that slipped through the cracks with me.

Their live-with-orchestra version of "Conquistador" from the early 70s was pretty cool. I think that and "Whiter Shade of Pale" are the only two tracks I ever heard from them...

Would the Left Banke be considered forgotten? They had two very successful singles, "Walk Away Renee" and "Pretty Balerina". I recently got their collected works (an out of print CD that's pretty expensive on Amazon.com) and just loved it.

Shine on Brightly from '68, Salty Dog from '69, Home from '70, & my favorite Broken Barricades from 1971 are Procul Harum albums worth checking out...

...& all contain outstanding guitar work from Robin Trower on songs like Simple Sister, Whiskey Train, Song for a Dreamer, & Power Failure.

Trower had already left the band by the time they did the Edmonton Symphony album, with Conquistador, around '72.

Procul Harum had a lot of strong Underground FM Radio hits that would sound familiar, if you heard them again.

Robin Trower (rt) & Procul Harum circa '69:

I loved Shine on Brightly and Salty Dog but lost track of them after that. I think I heard some of the later stuff on a greatest hits album. The thing I most remember about them wasn't Trower, but the two keyboardists. Or did I imagine that? :)

I love "A Salty Dog" but I most remember their 70's post-Trower album "Grand Hotel". That thing was ALL over the radio in those days. They had a really distinctive sound and the songwriting was good enought that Trower's absence wasn't too much of a liability.

When they toured with the orchestra, I knew a guy who went every NIGHT. He thought it was amazing!
