I've been trawling through the stuff I have on my PC and there's a curiosity that I'm fascinated with. The song is called 'Father's Name Was Dad' by a band called Fire. Can anyone shed any light on this song?

I have that tune on a compilation album... Really a great melodic piece of psychedelic pop, but I don't remember the history behind it... If I get ambitious I'll dig out the liner notes...

I think "Father's Name Was Dad" is on Nuggets 2. I've heard it at least once. I don't really remember it, so I should go back and spin it again...

Anyone here remember "Aorta?" They did one album...it was called, along with the title song, "The Main Vien". I may still have this clunker up in my attic, packed gently away with the other 23 metric tons of crap heh heh heh.
