For my money, it's VERY hard to beat the heartfelt solos that Gilmore laid down on Comfortably Numb.
I have listened to this song hundreds and hundreds of times (dare I say thousands?) and I don't think there's been one time in the past 30 years or more that I've listened to this song where I don't get chills when that solo starts (and at various points throughout it). When I say heartfelt, I don't know if I could find e better adjective for it. Being a guitar player for as long as I've been one, I could only dream of laying down an emotional track like this.
This is just the closing solo from the song from some live performance a few years ago (not sure which show or what year). The original studio version will always be tops for me, but there are plenty of other great live versions. His Pompeii performance from a couple yrs back is also fantastic!

Well, it is a bass guitar solo, but it is one of my favorites.
