Can't speak for anyone else ... for me, their music is pretty decent. Fantastic in spots, but always pretty decent. But the vocals suck

Some of the cover tracks they've done are ok. Some are even a bit humorous (ie: the Britney cover). But it all goes back to the vocals, which are what ruins it for me (like a lot of death/doom/black/etc metal)

The vocals are not for everyone much like any form of extreme style but they are brilliant to me.

The only real time they copped flack was for mediocre albums like Blooddrunk.

Yeah I know. I do try to listen to the stuff every so often just to see if my ear has changed a bit on the vocals. Rarely does anything change, but at times I hear things from various bands or songs that give me a bit of a different appreciation for their work.

So, I don't flat-out write off all of those forms of metal. not at all. Many many times I"ve said that I love the music, which is the biggest thing that brings me back to it to give some of it another chance.

Thing I like most though is the very black metal influenced guitar work from Alexi. Definitely has riffs he performed in Impaled Nazarene with. More prominent on the first 4 albums and Halo of Blood.

I've seen alot of people giving Alex crap for dressing "gay" for using keys etc. ....but whatever ..
I really like alot of this bands stuff. Great musicianship.

    Edit Impaled Nazarene is awesome!!!

Ironic thing is those people fall under a label of poser I usually hate. They judge bands on their image instead of the music.
