I thought the same thing Thumper, & thought I must've missed something but I've never heard her referred to as the Queen of Rock. If you type in the search 'Queen of Rock and Roll Tina Turner' of course your going to get results but the same thing happens when you type in 'Queen of Rock and Roll Joan Jett' or 'Queen of Rock and Roll Ann Wilson' or 'Queen of Rock and Roll Janis Joplin'

I wasn't putting down Tina Turner I just hadn't heard of that reference. She can rock out, look at "Nutbush City Limits" & her performance of "Acid Queen" in Tommy but these don't make her the Queen of R & R

If I was going to give that title to any females, it would go to the Wilson sisters, Ann and Nancy. They have been rockin' it for 40 years now.

Another rocker, although not a hard rocker, would be Stevie Nicks who is still rockin' it.

Joan Jett is a rocker, but not as big as Heart along with Pat Benatar.

Janis Joplin was more of the Queen of Blues than rock.

Tina Turner is more R & B than rock.

I can't say who is the biggest (based on sales?) but Grace Slick has to be among the most talented and respected ... :)

Although, they might not be in fashion or popular with the kiddies nowadays...

Janis Joplin and Grace Slick

followed by Ann and Nancy Wilson.

These women have ''the music'' and the history to back it up.

Legends.

Cheers to those who posted their names already.

I totally agree with Magic. If we're talking ROCK--Then most definately I 'd say - Ann and Nancy Wilson - Heart
