Great to see a thread on them. I don't know if I can call Angela the best...but she is really good and probably my favorite female singer in this style. Bottom line for me? I'm an Arch Enemy fan because of the whole! They have great songs that are well written, dynamic, dark and catchy! Great guitar skills too.

I love Michael Amott's tone...the same warm tone that other Michael's have held before him. Shenker,Denner ect. That V direct in is still the coolest sound ever.

My roommate also had me check out this band. I listened to both of these tracks and I don't like it BUT DAMN it's impressive in the bizarre sense that I didn't think a female could make that sound. I've heard screamers but that was inhuman for a chick. I thought it was dubbed over!

It is insane! Yeah, I plan on planting my ass in every artist thread eventually! Every band deserves a bump IMO. I don't think I could make an album review work out of this though but it definitely had an effect which means it did its job!

What get's me the most about this band?? Is the melodic structure of the music...as well as Angela sounding all sinister...a female vocalist of this nature sends goosebumps everytime...BUT the real goosebumps come with the writing and guitar tones.

You can tell he (Michael Amott) is a Michael Shenker fan...the flying V straight to Marshall sound...the warm tone and the way the riffs and leads are executed.

Another guy (another "Michael") was the same way. Michael Denner from Mercyful Fate.

Angela Gossow has the vocals that fit this band perfectly!



I've listened to this band for longer than I can remember. I can still remember that Nemesis was the first song I heard from them, and it only got better from there.
