Re: ANGEL (appreciation thread)

Mr DAkillerwolf ... you are right ! the 1st 2 ANGEL albums are rock classics  ...but so are the rest!! By the third LP " On earth as it is in heaven they adopted more of a pop-rock sound ..finally leading to the ultimate album "Sinful ". ANGEL by then were on top form with their emphasis on catchy songs/hooklines rather than Giuffrias atmospheric keyboards and Brandts superb drum rolls etc. Im not saying the style of music was better.....but it was as GOOD. :) ANGEL fans had to wait 20 years for a follow up!!.......I remember nearly feinting in a record store in SWEDEN...when i saw it... "in the beginning" does have its moments...but they show off to be more Zeppelin influences than ANGEL. Ah well..heres hoping for another cd...please NOTanother 20 years:mad:::banghead:

I don't like pop myself so can't say I'm much of a fan of their material after the first two. I did give OEAIIIH another listen just to be fair.

To each their own....

The first two are awesome though.

OUCH!!! I'm sorry...Felix Robinson wasn't in that band Bux it was Mickey Jones. My pain Killers must have kicked in when I wrote the previous post! I pulled out the old Bux album today & it sounded great.

Since I started the album ad thread a few days ago & posted a couple of Angel ads I've been really into them. I almost forgot how much I loved this band. I have all of their albums on my ipod & I just keep shuffling the tunes. They're another band that I don't know how they didn't make it! Great Band!!!

Great pics Bucky!
ANGEL it seems are still on "hold"...there was talk of an album this year.
Singer Frank Dimino is still busy playing smaller venues with another legend of mine Oz Fox [STRYPER] on guitar with the "covers band" PLAYGROUND.
Still......its great to see Frank enjoying himself and still rocking!!

Ive just had this perverse thought of Robert Plant and Mr Page performing "stick like glue" and other ANGEL songs....:heheh:.at a small venue.........excuse me Im cracking up lol :bonk:

This version of Immigrant Song is killing me when Frank is singing the heavier lines...I'm hearing a bit of Bobby Blotzer, the dude from Obsession...

Or Bon Scott. Is it Bon Scott I'm thinking of?? Somebody help me...who else does he kind of sound like these days??
