There are several stories about Noel Redding in my book. We met initially at Salisbury City Hall when he was still with The Loving Kind, then post Experience with Fat Mattress. We also seemed to be going in the opposite direction late at night a lot of times & stopped in the middle of nowhere for a chat until dawn started creeping up on us! (Or maybe that's another story, which is not to be posted here!) The old Ford Transits we had must have had some 'distinguishing marks'!
Sadly our bass player told me he moved to the Dingle Peninsula in SW Ireland (a couple of miles from his place) and was virtually a recluse, playing in local pubs now & then, to people who hadn't a clue who he was. Great shame.

This is a live version of Machine Gun I have never heard. Apparently it was recorded live in Oklahoma (1970). Interesting comments at the beginning of the song.

For a fan like me, this stuff is like gold, but....

DISCLAIMER * Poor Sound Quality* Don't expect anything special unless you are quite familiar with the song.. :D

this entire show is brilliant as jimi's playing is really inspired...

this is his first show since the day before the massacre at kent state, so that probably had something to do with it...

amongst collectors this is widely considered one the true gems and very best shows of jimi's last american tour...

I don't know if any of you guy's have ever picked up on the fact that Jimi was far more then a muscian?.

For the chosen few that picked up on him Jimi was a "messenger" sent by a greater force from beyond this world. :wtf:

Forget the stuff he recorded with 'the Experience' that stuff just let him 'in the door' into the music industry the "real music" of Jimi's was material that he rcorded from about the time of the Woodstock festival August 1969 onwards with Billy Cox, Mitch, Larry Lee, Juma Sultan & Jerry Velez and then later in '69 with the 'Band of Gypsies' with Billy Cox & Buddy Miles and then finally in 1970 with Billy Cox, Mitch, Juma Sultan & the getto-fighter's up to the summer of 1970. :grinthumb

Probably many will disagree but 'those in the know' will get it. :D
