Hey EC, cool to see you have ten favorite Eminem songs! It's cool to see surprises about people's taste as you never can judge everything that people listen to just according to what they post in a forum! Here's to variety! :cheers2

^^^^ Love all kinds of music. I'll fully admit the older I get the less rap or hip hop I listen to. But, Eminem is a poet IMO and a very good one....Probably helps that I DJ for Weddings, parties, etc and nothing like a good Eminem song at the end of the night!

That makes sense! My biggest rap phase was in High School which was the only short period it dominated over rock for me. Snoop Dogg, Dr, Dre, 2Pac, Warren G., etc. That was the glory age for my genre for me. Rocks been in the drivers seat ever since but I still count rap in the musical kaleidoscope for me! :grinthumb

One thing I've got to hit on which is a great point is the DJ part. A lot of rap, more specifically Hip-Hop, is about losing yourself and having a good time. Never has that benefited more then when rap gave rhythm and more beats to music that people could truly move too. People who go out, dance and generally have a good time out socially are always more apt to appreciate rap! That's cool that being a DJ you can get into music that's about losing yourself and having a great time! :cheers2

Most of my friends when I was (12-18) were into Rap/hip hop,so they obviously influenced me. My parents were big rock n roll fans so thats where I got my initial experience with my favourite genre (Rock n Roll). I was initially into the likes of Snoop Dogg,Dre,2 Pac,Warren G,Run DMC,Public Enemy,Notorious BIG,etc, etc.

Rap and Hip Hop are definitely much more popular during the my time playing DJ. Agree 100% with you, rap and hip hop are great for these events...women love to dance and generally let go during these events...and alcohol probably doesn't hurt :oyea:

The likes of (Dylan,Springsteen,Stones,Tragically Hip,Black Crowes,Dead,Zeppelin, etc, etc.) I really not played too often, especially later on in the evening. Although, I do have to admit I always find a way to slip in approx 5-10 of my personal choices usually in the start of the evening. :D

His early stuff sure was crazy. He's definately an outstanding artist. Some people would say theres no place for a blah blah blah like eminem, but if you listen to his lyrics he's really a talented guy and there's no doubt about it. I might nnot agree with his political or moral outlook on life lol but he deserves the respect given to him. So back to the plot. lol:)
I like anything on the Slim shady LP. There's my ten

Seriously NOT into rap of any kind....... but......... every once in a while something will come along at does have a nice hook (Tone Loc - Funky Cold Medina... btw.. the drum part is looped from Van Halens Jamies Crying) or really funny video (Aerosmith & Run DMC with Walk This Way), but with this guy, it has to be "We Made You". I like it so much its on my iPod video section...

Yay! Eminem thread. I love Eminem. He's the only rap artist I really like. My favourites are:
1. Without me
2. We made you
3. The Real Slim Shady
4. Lose yourself
5. Mockingbird

I always tought that Eminem is one of the best rappers around. I know many people think that he only swears and does nothing more, but I always found that his songs have quite good messages and a clever way of telling them.
