Re: The Partridge Family

I think during this time in TV and Music, a trend was surfacing. Several TV shows also had a band forming from the cast members. The Partridge Family, The Monkees, Sony and Cher, Elvis, the Rat Pack, Rick Springfield,(these are what come to mind).....and even to this day, actors try to cash in on their "fame" in the music business.

^^^ In the 70's it was in our kid's Saturday Morning cartoons as well remember? :heheh:

Whether it be live action or animated.

The Groovy Ghoulies
Archies
Hardy Boys
Josie & The Pussycats

But I'm a huge fan of Sid & Marty Krofft shows and am a collector of all that. H.R. Pufnstuf ...Wonderbug, Dr. Shrinker, Lidsville..I watch that crap all the time with the kids.

That's how I got to be friends with Geri Reischl who was "fake jan" on the Brady Bunch variety hour. I was a S & M Krofft enthusiast and that was a Krofft produced program. She replaced Eve Plumb who didn't want to do it.

Don't forget the Banana Splits or these guys...

In fact the drummer for Kaptain Kool & The Kongs (Turkey) Mickey McMeel ,was in fact a pro drummer and went on to replace Floyd Sneed in Three Dog Night.

The Partridge Family Album, their first album. I know this may seem odd but this is a perfect album or CD whatever you own.
I agree. This album is probably my deepest, darkest guilty pleasure. I remember liking almost every song on there -- especially "Heartbeat", "Albuquerque" and "Bandala".

Here's another song from that album that was featured in one of the episodes:

Susan Dey never really did anything for me (I was more into Karen Valentine from Room 222 :eek:hyeah:), but I did kinda have a thing for the mom. She was the ultimate "MILSWANCA". :D

Re: The Partridge Family

"I Think I Love You" was big on the radio when I had a crush on a girl in high school, so I always enjoyed that one song of theirs. Otherwise my admiration was limited to the comedic genius of Danny and the incredible hotness of Susan Dey, and to an even greater extent, Shirley Jones. Anyone who doubts the veracity of the latter, all you have to do is watch her play the role of the prostitute in Elmer Gantry. :D

Re: The Partridge Family

awww fantastic!

I remember finding "I Think I Love You" in a specialty shop when I was 16, and I remember being remarkably pissed to find that the record kept skipping.

Sigh.

That particular single was used in an art project, however.

Love this little studio band; watched the show as a kid and I'm still jealous of how wonderfully perfect and gorgeous Susan Dey is.
