This hasn't changed at all, but just about anything from David Gilmour will get in here through me, especially Shine On You Crazy Diamond...

I'd also like to add Randy Rhoad's solo on Mr. Crowley... No, maybe Flying High Again... He's my favorite guitarist.

***damn, this is pretty difficult. I'll come back later!

That's gotta be in the top drum intros of all time as well?

Even though he's just ******' pounding that set the whole song..

Exactly. I saw them on that tour (as well as the 4 tours before Painkiller) and I have to say, we were blown away by Travis' drumming. Never saw or heard Dave Holland play like that. Not that Holland was a bad drummer, he wasn't. But Travis blew him out of the freakin' water!

I could be wrong, but I think that is the first time that we heard sweeping (or sweep picking) on any JP album. It was old hat in terms of the 80's virtuosos by that time, but it was a JP first (I think).

Two solo's I always liked by Elliot Easton of The Cars are Candy-O and Shake It Up. They're short and pack a punch and compliment the songs perfectly.
