The set also includes three DVD-Audio discs with 5.1 surround-sound mixes of the classic Moody Blues albums that the band released between 1967 through 1972: ‘Days of Future Passed,’ ‘On the Threshold of a Dream,’ ‘To Our Children’s Children’s Children,’ ‘A Question of Balance,’ ‘Every Good Boy Deserves Favour’ and ‘Seventh Sojourn.’

filthy rich.

It'll be a rip-off if the "Lost Chord" album isn't there. How rich is Filthy rich? I payed $100 just to get 3 Bee Gees Albums (Bee Gees 1st, Horizontal & Idea), which came with Mono/Stereo versions of the albums and a 2nd CD with some of the rarer stuff/alternative versions to some of the album songs and other singles which didn't make the album (so you get 6xCDs). I thought that was a bargin. :D

^^I'm only familiar with 2 solo albums by Graeme Edge, Paradise Ballroom and Kick Your Muddy Boots off, both with Adrian Gurvitz on vocals. Really like Paradise Ballroom took me ages to get a CD copy and I still look for the vinyl gatefold album, the cover art is excellent.:D

I've never seen the Ray Thomas album you mentioned.

I agree the Graeme Edge albums with the Gurvitz brothers are excellent. I have read that this album is as good as the other solo albums and even the MB albums. Ray Thomas's songs with the Moody Blues are strong anyway. This also has great artwork. I suppose, sometimes, you just have to take the plunge and take a chance on an album.

Anyone here heard Ray Thomas's solo album, From Mighty Oaks?

Yeah, I have it. I like it. There's really not a bad song on it in my opinion, but again, there's no masterpieces either. If I had to pick my favorite, it would probably be "I Wish We Could Fly'.

The Moody Blues could be one of those bands where the solo albums are consistently good. I like everything by Justin Hayward and John lodge together or solo. The reviews of Mike Pinder's The Promise on Amazon are very positive.

Moody Blues Add North American Tour Dates

The Moody Blues just kicked off their 2013 fall tour, but they’ve already got their eye on concerts of future passed — in fact, they’re already adding dates for 2014.

“We’re gettin’ around,” guitarist and singer Justin Hayward told ABC News Radio. Asked which dates he’s particularly looking forward to, he admitted that he’s excited about playing the West Coast, “’cause I don’t think we’ve been that way for a while.”

As far as Hayward is concerned, a big part of the band’s recent live success has to do with the consistency of its core trio. As he told ABC, “I think this incarnation of The Moody Blues is certainly the happiest and the most enjoyable that me, [drummer] Graeme [Edge] and [singer-bassist] John [Lodge] have ever been part of.”

When Hayward spoke with UCR in 2013, he shared his enthusiasm for the live setting, saying it gave the band a chance to explore songs they “only ever played for a couple of days” when they were originally recorded. Saying the band has been “rediscovering” its catalog, he explained, “You just forget about these songs, but the fans never forget about them.”

Fans can expect more of that experimentation on the current tour. As Hayward told ABC, “We’re doing a couple of songs that we haven’t done. We’re doing a few different things and swapping around songs every night, so that’s quite interesting.”
