List of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I was just looking at the list of Rock 'N' Roll Hall Of Fame inductees on Wikipedia and I have some problems with it. Mainly my problem is this: Grand Master Flash And The Furious Five, Guns 'N' Roses, The Beastie Boys and Red Hot Chilli Peppers were inducted before The Band and The Marshall Tucker Band (neither are inducted). I say wassup with dat!?

There are a lot of undeserving artists in the HOF and an even longer list of deserving arts that are NOT in.


This topic is nothing new within classic rock forums around the world. I've been pretty vocal about it in the past. Don't have time to go on a diatribe right now.

Yeah, your right. How could I have over looked that one!? Anywayz I still think that The Marshall Tucker Band should have gotten in before those others I mentioned. So is their a band(s) that y'all think that should of gotten in before another?

I have heard lots and lots of rants against the Rock Hall of Fame. But I'm pretty sure that is the first time I've heard anybody argue for The Marshall Tucker Band.

My personal cause would probably be for Hall & Oates. KISS is an obvious oversight. Rush is probably mentioned more than anybody else, but I'm not real big on Rush myself.

My personal cause for 15 years has been the Electric Light Orchestra since they first became eligible around 1996-1997, I even wrote a letter to former chairman Ahmet Ertegun in 1998, then conversed with nominating committee members Roy Trakin and Paul Shaffer over this past year who agree about ELO!

ELO aren't in there. Neither is ELP or the Moody Blues or Styx or BOston, Kansas, Foreigner. Of course Yes aren't in there either. Basically if you are an arena rock or prog rock band your ass isn't in there. There are some exceptions for both though. I'm just glad that RUsh and Deep Purple have been nominated this time around. Let's hope they get in.

The RARHOF is a joke.

The fact that the bands you listed aren't in there but Grand Master Flash And The Furious Five, The Beastie Boys and Red Hot Chilli Peppers were accepted discredits the entire thing.

The first two I listed aren't even rock and roll bands. Why the hell would they be in there in the first place!

I don't consider the Chili Peppers a great rock and roll band. They had a couple of good songs but to place them in the same echelon as The Beach Boys, Elton John, or Simon and Garfunkel is ridiculous.
