But Electronica as a whole has some interesting things in it as a whole.

I consider this type of music to be called "TRANCE".. In the world of dance music or club music there are several sub genres that fall under Electronica..
House
Rave
Techno
Acid
Drum and Bass
Ambient
Bitpop
Downtempo
Dubtronica
Glitch
IDM
Nu Jazz
Trip Hop

This is one of my favorite DJ's.. Bad Boy Bill who uses 4 turntables to do his mixing..

I think alot of people who expessed dislike for techno music probably never have been clubbers..
This music is designed with beats so that each song can be mixed into another so you get continuous music. It's a art form to be able to do..
I was a DJ and played mostly 12 inch version of popular songs that were much longer and had been remixed with more of a thumping beat..
I don't like all of it.. but there are some pretty cool beats out there..
What? you want to go to a club just to sit on your ass and drink?? Pffttt You can do that at home..:bonk:

I respect, like, enjoy and even dance (at the tender age of 50+!!!!:):)) to techno.....it's much better than that CRAP dished out in the late 70s and early 80s called "disco music":):):)

:lmao: S&L I'm not hard of hearing.. Quit shouting!!:heheh:
Techno is different than the two vids posted ..
This is Techno..

It may sound like the other songs because of the thumping kick Bass.. But they add more synth to techno and loads of sample loops..

Just out of curiosity.. What genre do you people consider this song to fall under??

I just plain don't like the idea of unknown artists getting a huge leg up because of American Idol or a YouTube video that goes viral.

Call me a party pooper but it'd be nice to see new musicians actually pay dues like artists used to before reality tv and internet exposure is all people needed to become a big-name artist.

I don't care what genre it is in those cases.

I said earlier I was going to comment but I changed my mind.:D

For me it's the synth pop, new wave, new romantic of the early 80's that dominated the charts. Artists like The Thompson Twins, Tears For Fear, Simple Minds, Pet Shop Boys, The Eurythmics, Culture Club, Men At Work, etc. Spineless, weak, pompous, bombastic, over produced programmed synthesizers compensating for feeble and deficient talent and musianship.

At least rap/hip-hop has some style with energy, vigour, and forcefulness expression. No question, some of it goes over the top. Doesn't certain artists go over the top in every genre(?).
