Wow. That was a trip. The first half was kinda so-so, and I think it was because it was more a narrative than a song. It got better once the band joined in.
The harmonica was great, and the lyrics painted a pretty bleak picture of the human condition.
That's not a bad thing, though. It was what the song was about. Not every story has a happy ending.
Been awhile since someone posted a big band song in here. Currently, I'm staying in a city that is all senior citizens and when you go into a grocery store, this is what you hear. So yeah, I'm used to it. Opus One is a good song...but was it Tommy Dorsey's Magnus Opus...or was he known for better songs? 7.3/10.
