Re: Daily, Nightly and Ever So Rightly II *Chat Thread*

I always thought regarding debates about music downloading that its actually the record labels who rip artists off more then downloads. Downloading has its benefits it gives bands exposure to a wide audience. They don't make much of their albums which to me is just down to greedy record labels. If Metallica had put The Black Album out today they probably wouldn't have near as much cents to their name from it given the greedy labels.

Re: Member's Picture Thread Vol. 2

I got my hair done today. I got it trimmed, stylized, and had highlights put in. The first one is from immediately after it was finished (and still kind of wet) and the second is the finished product. I'm so happy with how it turned out. :D

^^It's almost always been between 12-15% Riff that the artist's get from the sale of an album.

Pink Floyd decades ago pulled a coupe de grace and managed to split their contract with Harvest/EMI...they signed an independent deal with Columbia Records to distribute their music in North America and retained Full Ownership of their songs. Harvest kept the European market.

Animals was the first album to be released on both labels.

I like when bands try to retain ownership of their music, I mean I don't get why they are happy to let the label only give them a small slice.

:heheh: Wait 'til your doing 10 hour shifts. It's a job you have to love otherwise it's tough.

Boy don't I know this?
10 hour shift doing production line work years ago, I was burned out after 3 shifts and physically could not keep up. :(
That work isn't for me, glad I did have a go though.

Actually at Fairbanks Memorial you work four tens a week with three days off. I would gladly do that. Is that what you do?
