Something like that, but I'd put their level of talent pretty far above punk.

Grunge is a hybrid much like Rock and Roll was a hybrid of Country and black R&B and Gospel. It was always at least a little depressing for me,but even I admit it IS a legitimate genre of music...............

So, you changed your mind because I hurt the feelings of your favorite genre?

Grunge = metal after it was watered down by the 80s phoney 'metal' cheesefest.

Haven't heard a legitimate argument against this FACT.

The legitimate argument would be that it's not a fact at all but rather your opinion.

I'm not the biggest grunge fan in the world but to pass it off as cheesy metal, which is essentially what you're doing, is just silly.

Your insistence on generalizing the talent level of musicians by genre is beyond silly.

I didn't say it was cheesy metal. I said it was sort of the result of the aftermath of a decade of cheese metal making metal a cringe-worthy term. I know this because I lived through this decade with the endless arguments that Bon Jovi was neither heavy or metal and the eventual abandonment of generally saying that metal was something I really liked (because you'd almost invariably have to get into a conversation about Motley Crue, Winger or any number of Hair vendors and how - no that's not at all what you were talking about when you said metal).

As for punk almost universally lacking real talent the proof is in the putting. And I like both Grunge and Punk but I call it like I see it.
